Sara Liptai MA PGCE PhD qualified as a secondary school teacher in her native Hungary before moving to London in 1980 where she worked for the BBC World Service before returning to education. This return was prompted by motherhood and by the BBC programme ‘Socrates for six-year-olds’ about Matthew Lipman’s work.
After a primary PGCE she completed a PhD on using music as the starting point in philosophical enquiry.
Sara has been a SAPERE trainer at all three training levels for many years. She has contributed to several conferences and has led, or participated in, various P4C projects in London and the Midlands.
The focus of her writing is the resources, techniques and impact of philosophical enquiry in and about the arts, especially music and visual art.
Specialist areas: whole schools support and mentoring; P4C in the curriculum, especially in art and design, and in music
