Trainer Profile:

Having worked abroad teaching English in France, Spain and Argentine, I then worked in secondary schools in Bradford and Cambridge for 8 years. My brief was to support pupils learning English as an Additional language and develop multicultural dimensions to the curriculum. For the last 19 years, I have worked for Oldham Council, most recently as a school improvement adviser with responsibility for community cohesion. I am currently leading an extensive philosophy for children and communities project in Oldham. Since 2008 I have been working part time for Oldham Council and have developed my freelance work as a SAPERE accredited P4C trainer and consultant. I am currently working with Save the Children on a SAPEREC supported project. I have a particular interest in using the enquiry approach to explore issues to do with diversity and responding to cultural and religious difference. As part of this I have led a central government funded “Dialogue and Enquiry” project training 6 form students to lead enquiries with younger pupils either in their own schools or feeder primary schools.

Completion of the course and facilitating 6 P4C sessions will qualify you for a P4C Initial Practitioner certificate.
